Ad Council Expands Board of Directors with 17 New Members
New Appointments Bring Diverse Perspectives to Drive National Campaigns
The Ad Council has broadened its board of directors with the election of 17 new members, injecting fresh perspectives from diverse sectors into its leadership. Renowned for pioneering public service campaigns such as Smokey Bear and initiatives around gun safety, the nonprofit continues its mission of addressing critical national issues.
Board Leadership
At the helm of the board remains Tara Walpert Levy, vice president of YouTube Americas, continuing her role as chair. Carla Hassan, chief marketing officer at JPMorgan Chase, takes on an elevated position as vice chair. Together, they will guide the 162-member board, drawing expertise from media, marketing, tech, and business arenas. This assembly of leaders provides strategic direction and financial backing to propel campaigns targeting pressing concerns like mental health, substance use, gun violence, and hate.
This year’s appointees span multiple industries, from retail and technology to sports and entertainment, bringing years of brand leadership to the fore. Among the new members is Emily Wilcox, CEO of TBWA\Chiat\Day New York, who finds synergy between her professional motivations and the Ad Council’s mission. “What we do for a living can be so powerful when deployed for the right causes,” Wilcox stated. “It’s why I am excited to get started and help the organization continue its mission.”
Tim Clark, executive vice president and chief brand officer at NASCAR, underscored the collaborative potential of the board. “The Ad Council Board of Directors…brings together leaders with exceptional expertise, resources, and access to platforms that can make a real, measurable difference in communities across the country,” Clark remarked.
Meanwhile, Jackelyn Keller, chief marketing officer at Comscore, emphasized the efficacy of combining purposeful storytelling with data-driven strategy. “The Ad Council reinforces that when storytelling meets purpose, it can shape culture—and move people,” she said. “Data makes that impact measurable and actionable.”
